BBC Rethink… how we age

Our Director Andrew Steele featured in the latest episode of Rethink on BBC Radio 4, speaking with Oxford University’s Professor Ben Ansell about what ageing is, the difference between chronological and biological age and what we can learn from animals like tortoises that get older without getting old.

He joined molecular biologist Dr Nessa Carey, author of The Epigenetics Revolution and a visiting professor at Imperial College London; Dr Daniel Belsky of the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center, developer of the DunedinPACE epigenetic clock; and Dr Sharon Rosenzweig-Lipson, Chief Scientific Officer at cellular rejuvenation company Life Biosciences.

Rethink’s remit is ‘the latest thinking, and what it might mean for policy and society’ – and we’re very happy to see ageing biology be part of that conversation.
